到訪回顧 - 船到橋頭生活節 2023 Interisland festival opening

2023年，在我的工作室空間與門前區域，我們舉辦了一場開幕活動，作為「船到橋頭生活節」（Interisland Festival 2023）的一部分。這場藝術與生活節慶，串聯起坪洲、梅窩、芝麻灣與長洲，借由新開通的「Interisland」渡輪航線，讓島嶼間的脈絡重現生機。據歷史記載，這四地早在清朝中期便因漁民貿易與農產交換而緊密相連，魚獲與農作在海浪間往來，織就一張無形的網絡，滋養著島民的生計與情感紐帶。節慶的創辦人——坪洲的三位藝術家Myriem Alnet、Chun-Kit Chan與Yip Kai Chun——以他們對島嶼生活的熱愛，發起這場盛會，讓我深刻感受到與這片土地、這座島嶼，以及這種悠然生活的連結更為深厚。透過活動，我不僅與創辦人們建立起友誼，更彷彿重溫了那段海風吹拂的歷史，感受到島嶼間的互依與活力。
麵包，彷彿一塊溫暖的橋樑，能將人們串聯起來，悄然構築社群。每一塊酸種麵包的發酵，都像是一場對話的醞釀：在工作坊中，學員們揉麵、分享故事，陌生人轉瞬成夥伴。透過烘焙，我們不僅交換技藝，更交換心意，讓孤立的個體匯聚成一個充滿香氣與笑聲的共同體。這，正是社群誕生的奇妙之處——從一粒酵母開始，蔓延出無限的連結。
In 2023, my workshop space and its doorstep on Cheung Chau hummed with life during the opening event of the Inter-Island Festival. This art-and-life celebration, woven together by the new Interisland ferry route, linked Peng Chau, Mui Wo, Chi Ma Wan, and Cheung Chau—four islands bound by a rich history of trade, where fishermen and farmers once bartered fish and crops across the waves. The festival, sparked by Peng Chau visionaries Myriem Alnet, Chun-Kit Chan, and Yip Kai Chun, deepened my bond with this island, its land, and its unhurried way of life. Their passion for island culture stitched us closer, echoing the maritime threads of old, vibrant with shared stories and sea-salted air.
Bread, like a warm handshake, builds community from simple grains. In my workshops, kneading dough sparks conversations, turning strangers into kin. Each loaf, risen with wild yeast, carries stories—shared laughs, swapped tips—that bind us. From a single starter, a community blooms, proof that baking is more than bread: it’s connection, crafted with care.
